The first mental health conference for Black students in the Ivy League
- In February of 2019, The Black Pre-Medical Society of Princeton introduced our first ever inter-Ivy League Black Pre-Medical Conference. This inaugural conference was entitled “Shattering the Silence: A Discussion on Black Mental Health.” This Conference examined a wide range of issues surrounding Black mental health such as:
- The criminalization of drug addiction in Black communities
- Effects of grief and trauma from police brutality to gang violence
- Stereotyping
- Portrayals of Black mental health in media
- And more!
